Refund and Returns Policy
At Motor Dock Marine, we understand that purchasing a used outboard motor is an important decision. Because these engines are pre-owned and shipped through freight carriers, returns are handled carefully and under specific conditions.
Return Window
Customers may request a return within 28 days of receiving the item.
To qualify for a return, the motor must remain in the same condition in which it was delivered. The engine must not be installed, modified, or disassembled after delivery.
Eligible Return Situations
Returns may be considered in situations such as:
- The item received is different from the product ordered
- The motor arrives with shipping damage
- A verified issue is discovered that was not described in the product listing
Return Method
Approved returns are handled by mail using a freight carrier. Due to the size and weight of outboard motors, returns must be properly packaged and shipped through a freight service.
Once a return is approved, instructions will be provided for arranging the return shipment.
Restocking Fee
Approved returns may be subject to a 10% restocking fee. This fee helps cover inspection, handling, and repackaging costs after the motor is returned.
The restocking fee does not apply if the return is due to:
- Shipping damage
- An incorrect item being sent
Refund Processing Time
After the returned motor has been received and inspected, refunds are typically processed within 5–10 business days. Once the refund is issued, the time it takes for the funds to appear in your account may depend on your payment provider.
Return Shipping
Unless the return is due to shipping damage or an incorrect item sent by us, return shipping costs are the responsibility of the buyer. Freight return costs may vary depending on location and carrier.
Shipping Damage
If your shipment arrives with visible damage, please note the damage with the delivery driver before signing for the delivery and contact us as soon as possible. This helps us file a freight claim with the carrier if needed.
