Limited Warranty Policy
Motor Dock Marine provides a 6-month limited warranty on select pre-owned outboard motors sold through our website. This warranty is intended to give customers a reasonable period to verify that the engine is operating as described at the time of sale under normal recreational use.
Warranty Coverage Period
The 6-month warranty period begins on the date the motor is delivered to the customer.
During this period, the warranty covers qualifying major internal mechanical issues that prevent the motor from operating as intended under normal use and proper installation conditions.
If a qualifying issue is confirmed during the warranty period, Motor Dock Marine may choose to:
- Provide replacement parts
- Assist with repair arrangements
- Offer another reasonable resolution depending on the situation
All warranty situations are reviewed individually.
What the Warranty Does Not Cover
This limited warranty does not cover issues related to:
- Normal wear and cosmetic condition
- Routine maintenance items such as spark plugs, filters, lubricants, water pumps, or impellers
- Damage caused by improper installation
- Incorrect setup or rigging
- Misuse, neglect, overheating, or accidents
- Corrosion resulting from improper storage or maintenance
- Modifications, alterations, or disassembly performed after delivery
- Commercial or racing use unless otherwise stated
Because these are pre-owned marine engines, normal cosmetic wear and signs of previous use may be present.
Installation and Setup
Proper installation is essential for the safe operation and performance of any outboard motor.
Customers are responsible for ensuring the motor is installed correctly and according to manufacturer guidelines and marine safety standards. Installation by a qualified marine technician is strongly recommended.
Motor Dock Marine is not responsible for damage caused by improper installation, incorrect rigging, or incompatible boat setups.
Warranty Claims
If you believe your motor has a warranty-related issue, please contact us as soon as possible during the warranty period.
To help review the claim, customers may be asked to provide:
- Order number
- Description of the issue
- Photos or videos
- Compression readings or diagnostic information when applicable
Unauthorized repairs or disassembly performed without prior communication may affect warranty eligibility.
Warranty Limitations
This warranty applies only to the original purchaser and is non-transferable.
Motor Dock Marine reserves the right to inspect or review any claimed issue before approving warranty assistance, replacement parts, repair support, or refund consideration.
Warranty coverage is limited to the original purchase value of the motor.
